What if I'm bad at math?
This is the #1 question I get from accounting students and future bookkeepers. Accounting is a language. There is no math required because the software does all of it for you. If you can type numbers, that's all you need. I promise!
I'm already busy. How can I add even more?
Trust me. I get it. I'll teach you all my tricks and tips to help you find a few hours each week to go through the modules and start building your business. These are the tricks I use to run two businesses and teach at a University while still having a life and raising my son. Did I mention I also get 7-9 hours of sleep per night?
What if I've never had a Business?
Most people have never had a business until they've had a business. That's why the first module is all about how businesses work. This will help you set up your own business and better understand how other businesses run. Once you're done, you'll probably have a better understanding of how businesses actually work than most people with a degree in business!
I've always been a stay-at-home Mom. Can I really do this?
A home is a very complex organization! You're managing finances, operations, and personnel issues on a daily basis. You are more qualified for this than you think!
Don't I need an accounting degree?
No, you don't need one.
I work full-time. How can I find the time to do this?
In the bonuses, I will show you how to figure out how much time you have to devote to your business each week and what steps to take so you can start earning money and cutting back your hours at work. I ask that you are able to devote at least an hour a day or 7 hours per week. Those hours can be before your kids wake up, your lunch hour, a few hours on the weekends, or after your kids go to bed. Are you willing to make that commitment to get your life back?
How much will it cost to start my business?
You can start your business for as little as $100 plus state required filing fees. We discuss options for all budgets including those who are bootstrapping so you can get started as soon as possible.
I already have a business or a family member does. Can I take this course to learn how to keep our books?
While the course is focused on training bookkeepers, we have a number of small business owners and small business family members in the course. After taking the class, some of those family members are now building their own bookkeeping businesses. Most of the content pertains to all types of businesses, including business setup, getting new clients, marketing online, and setting boundaries with clients.
I don't know how to find clients. Is this really for me?
When I started my business, this was my biggest fear because I was going through chemo at the time. I was able to grow my business and fill my schedule with amazing clients. I'm going to show you the techniques I used both locally and online.
